AION UT Cross and GS7 introduced at 2026 Paris Motor Show ahead of UK arrival

  • Global debut of segment-defying UT Cross – SUV stance with electric supermini agility
  • GS7 plug-in hybrid brings new powertrains and new levels of luxury to AION’s UK line-up
  • Both models coming to UK in 2027 as brand plans eight-strong line-up by the end of the decade

London, 12 October 2026 – Two new AION models have been unveiled at the 2026 Paris Motor Show ahead of their arrival in the UK next year. The electric UT Cross combines SUV-style with agile B-segment handling, while the GS7 features new levels of luxury and takes AION into the hybrid powertrain arena for the first time in the UK.

The UT Cross elevates AION's existing supermini offering with a segment-defying car that is just as capable at navigating narrow city streets as it is of swallowing the camping gear for a weekend adventure.

Created at the company’s Milan Design Centre, the UT Cross rides 20mm higher than the regular UT supermini and features rugged matt black wheel arch and lower body protective trim, a 'floating' roof with practical black roof rails, and distinct signature lighting, all of which combine to give the UT Cross a commanding and purposeful road presence. Its bold looks are further enhanced by wider 225 mm tyres and a unique alloy wheel design, while a 440-litre boot and spacious cabin for both front and rear passengers make this a multi-talented new addition to the AION line-up.

The UT Cross shares the same 204PS powertrain and 60kW battery as the UT hatchback that arrived in showrooms last month, and also benefits from the same spacious interior and excellent equipment levels, including a standard heat pump and heated steering wheel, features more akin with larger cars.

Further details, including UK pricing and specification, will be announced ahead of the car's UK launch in early 2027.

Alongside the UT Cross, the AION GS7 made its European debut in Paris. Already on sale in several markets across South America and Central Asia, this high-quality five-seat SUV is set to reach the UK in 2027, with plans for both hybrid and plug-in hybrid power in what will be AION's first expansion outside of full EV powertrains.

The first production model built on a new EV+ platform, the GS7 will offer luxury-car refinement and a plush cabin complete with new technology and premium features not yet seen on AION models.

More details and full specification will be revealed closer to the car's arrival in AION's growing network of UK dealers.

Jon Wakefield, Managing Director of AION Auto UK, said:  "Although AION is a new name to British customers, we are not a new brand, and that is evident in the exceptionally mature quality of the product we're introducing. Our UK line-up will grow with at least five new cars over the next 18 months, including the UT Cross and GS7, on the way to an eight-strong model family by 2030.

"In addition, we’re focusing on building a sustainable and trusted brand, and our Great 8 Promise is testament to that, providing total peace of mind throughout our customers’ ownership cycle."

The AION Great 8 Promise is the UK's leading aftersales proposition, providing an eight-year warranty, eight years' roadside assistance, eight years' servicing and MOT until the car is eight years old. This package is VIN-locked, meaning it transfers with the car when it changes hands, giving long-term peace of mind to current and future AION owners.
